Spies undergoes successful surgery
An operation to repair damage to Ben Spies's shoulder has been successful, Yamaha has confirmed, though the American rider is certain to be out of action until 2013. Spies, who suffered upper body injuries and a bruised lung in a heavy crash at Sepang, underwent surgery in the USA on Tuesday to repair torn ligaments to his right shoulder.
