Ducati completes first test of new bike

Ducati managed to put 386 laps on its new GP11 bike as it made its track debut with a three-day test at Jerez, which concluded today. Team manager Vito Guareschi returned to his previous role as test rider and was joined by Franco Battaini for the sessions. Ducati's technical chief Filippo Preziosi was very pleased with the work Guareschi and Battaini achieved, but said it was only an initial step before race riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden are allowed to try the bike in the first group test at Sepang on 1-3 February.
