Vettel defends Red Bull tyre strategy

Sebastian Vettel does not think Red Bull's Chinese Grand Prix strategy was wrong, despite failing to finish on the podium. Red Bull chose not to get involved in the pole fight, declining to set a Q3 time and instead starting Vettel on medium tyres from ninth on the grid. Although fourth-placed Vettel was the highest finisher among the drivers using that tactic, he was beaten by Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton
