Hanninen set for Ford WRC switch

Juho Hanninen is expected to tackle the first two rounds of next year's World Rally Championship in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS WRC after being released from his Skoda contract. The 31-year-old Finn, who won the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, Super 2000 WRC and European Rally Championship in a Fabia S2000 between 2010 and '12, was confirmed as a free agent by Skoda on Friday. He will be replaced in the Czech Republic team by rising star Esapekka Lappi, who will tackle WRC-2 (the new name for SWRC) next year.
