Robin Frijns edged Kevin Magnussen to take pole position for the second Formula Renault 3.5 race of the weekend in Hungary. The two rookies, who were the class of the field on Saturday as well, traded blows in the final stages of Sunday morning's session, with championship leader Frijns coming out on top by just 0.007 seconds to secure his second pole position of the weekend. Much like in qualifying for race one , the Dutchman had been the pacesetter for the majority of the session, before facing an onslaught in the closing stages as others improved
