Molina denies Green Hockenheim pole
Miguel Molina denied Jamie Green a first DTM pole for five years with a storming effort to take the top spot for this weekend's season finale at Hockenheim. The Spaniard, who was also on pole at Oschersleben recently, was the last man to take to the track in the one-lap final section of qualifying after going quickest in Q3 in his old-spec Abt Audi.
Loeb extends lead in Spain
Sebastien Loeb stretched his Rally of Spain lead to 32.8 seconds over Jari-Matti Latvala as the event moved onto asphalt for its remaining two days. Yesterday's gravel stages had been Loeb's rivals' chance to strike - particularly with the championship leader running first on the road - but punctures and incidents delayed both Jari-Matti Latvala and Sebastien Ogier, giving Loeb a half-minute cushion overnight.

Menu tops opening Suzuka practice
Alain Menu topped the opening practice session at Suzuka, edging out the Polestar Volvo of Robert Dahlgren in the final minutes. Dahlgren had been the first driver to dip under the 54s barrier, going more than 0.3s clear of the field with five minutes to go. Chevrolet still had a set of fresh rubber to use however, and it paid dividends as Alain Menu made full use to lower the benchmark to 53.608s with two minutes remaining.
